After proclaiming the mankind with invitation for Haj Syeduna Ibrahim alihis salaam performed the rites of haj with Syeduna Ismail alaihis salaam as per the guidance of the angel Jibrael Ameen alahissalaam. He was to first to perform tawaf of the Kaba.
then performed Sa’ee between Safa and Marwah, then proceeded to Mina where he found the Shaitan on whom he pelted 7 stones while reciting Takbeer (saying Allahu Akbar). Then by walk he reached Arafah, stayed there that night and left Arafah in the morning for Mina, then on sighting the shaitan at three places, he performed Rami. He stayed at Mina.
After completion of the other rites of Hajj, he left for his country Sham (now Syria). He visited the holy Makkah every year for Hajj. Hadrat Sara alaihas salaam too performed Hajj of the holy house of Allah the Glorious. In the same manner, the Prophets, Hadrat Ishaq, Hadrat Yaqoob, Hadrat Moosa, and other prophets alaihumas salaam were performing Hajj. In Islam, Hajj was prescribed Fardh (obligation) in the year 5 Hijri or 6 Hijri or 9 Hijri. Prior to the Hajj becoming Fadh on Muslims, and prior to Hijrah (the migration) the holy prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam performed Hajj as had been his (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) routine practice. Adam alaihis salaam had performed 40 Hajj by walking down all the way from India. In the performance of the Hajj by the prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam, Hadrat Moosa alaihis salaam, Yunus alaihis salaam and Eisa alaihis salaam were also present with him to perform Hajj.
