First construction
It must be remembered that the Arsh and water were created first in the beginning. The water came into action and produced foam. This foam was intact in the place of the earth where the “Kaba” is there now. when this foam was spread this changed the shape into the entire earth.The prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam said: كَانَ اللَّهُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ قَبْلَهُ وَكَانَ عَرْشُهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ ثُمَّ خَلَقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَكَتَبَ فِي الذِّكْرِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ That is to say that there was nothing prior to Allah. when Allah the glorious created Arsh and water his Arsh was on the water. There was no barrier in between the water and the Arsh. Then he created the heavens and the earth and made it written down in Lauhe mahfooz everything that had been created. (sahihBukhari, Hadith 7418).
The famous interpreter Imam Mujahid Radhiallahu anhu narrated from his own argument: إنّ أول ما خلق الله الكعبةَ، ثم دَحى الأرض من تحتها that is to say that Allah had created the Kaba first and from that point the complete earth spread in the shape of a globe. (Tafsir tabari, No : 7429)
The famous interpreter Imam Sudi narrates from his argument:
فإنه يوم كانت الأرض ماء، كان زَبْدَة على الأرض، فلما خلق الله الأرضَ، خلق البيت معها، فهو أول بيت وضع في الأرض
That is to say that the background of the “First House” was that there was only water in the place of the earth and the water was in the form of foam. when Allah created the earth he created the Kaba first from where the entire earth took its shape. Hence the Kaba is called the “first house on the earth”. (Tafsir tabari, No: 7431).
