Five miqaat
Miqaat is such a place that any universal visitor who wishes to go to Makkah Muazzamah (Holy Makkah) is not permitted beyond this point without wearing ihram; may it be for the sake of trade or anything else. On the contrary, if the residents of Makkah Mukarramah need to cross the borders of Miqaat (to go to Taif or Madinah Munawwarah, for example), it has not been permissible for them to return to their dwelling without wearing ihram. This is because of the sayings of Huzur Sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam: ("لایجاوز احد المیقات الا محرما") that is to say that none should cross the Miqaat without wearing ihram.  Keep in mind that it has been made imperative to enter the Haram Makkah wearing ihram in order to increase the honor and grandeur of Haram Makkah. Therefore, all those traders, people performing Umrah and Hajj are included in this command. (Raddul-Muhtar, Kitab Al-Haj, Volume 2, Page 455).
