Why zam zam is taken standing?
The zam zam water was found by the command of Allah through Jibrael alaihis salaam on rubbing of the heels of the infant Ismail alaihis salaam.  Hence, in all respects this water is blessed and commands honor. The Holy prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam gave much importance and honor to the water that while drinking zam zam turn towards Qibla stand and supplicate for the health peace and knowledge. It is a known fact that drinking the water standing, honor of the water is increased.
