Chapter: Nasab naama

Hazrat Hashim (RA)
This is the same Hashim who is the father of Hazrat Abdul Muttalib, the grandfather of Sarkar. Once, due to famine, people did not get anything to eat for many days. Hashim bought wheat and flour from Syria and came to Makkah with camels during the days of Hajj. Breads were baked and camels were slaughtered for their meat. Salan was made into a broth. In this broth, breads were coated and made into tharid and everyone was invited to eat. That is why his name was changed to Hashim. Hashim means one who breaks breads and mixes them in broth. Who started two journeys of Quraysh. One trade trip took place in winter while the other took place in summer. These people would guarantee the safety of their lives and trade caravans wherever they were. Hazrat Hashim was only 25 years old when he went to Syria with his trade caravans and died due to illness. His shrine is in Gaza City.
